| During what I expected to be our first and only date, I planned to throw a drink in Andrew’s face…
Following a brief exchange on the dating app, Coffee Meets Bagel, we had agreed to meet at the Press Club in San Francisco for a glass of wine. A few days before our date, I came down with a cold. Common courtesy required that I reschedule. I politely provided a new date and insisted that I still wanted to meet up. Andrew said the only way he would schedule is if I brought my “A-game.” Only a bozo would ask a Stich to bring her “A-game.” Andrew was waiting outside the bar on that damp December evening, with his goofy, disarming smile. He pulled me in for a hug and said, “I’ve been so excited to meet you.” It was love at first howdy. |
Basically, Kait bailed on our first date. With about 24 hours notice she let me know that she was planning on being sick the next night. I respected that and told her to bring her “A-game” for our date a few nights later.
On December 8, 2014, we grabbed a glass of wine at the Press Club in San Francisco. Kait’s beautiful long dark hair, appreciation for my favorite food group (steak), and intellect were instantly attractive. We were still deep in conversation 3 hours later. She brought her A-game. And we try to celebrate our anniversary every month on the 8th. Over the next few months we fell in love and now we’re thrilled to begin the next chapter of our lives and have your help celebrating! |
The Proposal
While at Burning Man in 2017, we were helping a long-time friend of Andrew’s with an art installation. At sundown during one of our last evenings on the playa, Andrew convinced me to take photos in front of the piece. Andrew took the opportunity to get down on one knee and ask me to marry him. After realizing that he wasn’t joking, I said “Yes!”
